Quantum engineering consortium
The School of Science and Engineering will receive $500,000 as part of a new consortium dedicated to educating quantum engineers. The funding will train a new generation of these engineers in advanced computing and communications technologies. The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Energy’s RENEW Initiative, which awarded a total of $4.8 million in grants to the seven universities in the consortium.https://tulane.it/3rcKgR7
Data literacy for the next generation
Data is everywhere. We are consuming, generating and sharing data. This fall, the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science (CAIDS) officially offers Tulane faculty and students programming to significantly increase Tulanians’ data fluency.
datA ACCESSIBILITY
Brian Summa, assistant professor of computer science, was awarded an Early Career Award from the U.S. Department of Energy to examine how to decrease data size from supercomputers to make the data more accessible and easier to analyze. TEACHING ALGORITHMS TO BE FAIR
